Anix Webpass & Ministry of Shipping joined hands to construct coastline & waterways of India under Sagarmala Project


Anix Webpass JV have joined hands to construct coastline and waterways of India under Sagarmala Project – a government project aimed at constructing port-led development.

The project will look to harness the 7,500 km long coastline and 14,500 km of potentially navigable waterways of the country, informed a statement from the company officials.

This project is the first initiative of its kind in the country.  The government has awarded a Rs. 676-crore contract to the consortia to construct the ERP based connectivity of ports. It looks towards “transforming the existing Ports into modern world class Ports and integrate the development of the Ports, the Industrial clusters and hinterland and efficient evacuation systems through road, rail, inland and coastal waterways resulting in Ports becoming the drivers of economic activity in coastal areas.

Under Sagarmala Programme, 415 projects, at an estimated investment of approximately ₹7.98500 lakh crore (US$120 billion), have been identified across port modernization & new port development, port connectivity enhancement, port-linked industrialization and coastal community development for phase wise implementation over the period 2015 to 2035.
